Chuck NG

Chuck Ng is an entrepreneur, technology investor, and civic leader who unites private investment with public purpose. He has backed multiple high-growth technology companies, including unicorns such as Databricks, SambaNova Systems, Mammoth Biosciences, and Ironclad—ventures advancing breakthrough innovations in AI, life sciences, and digital infrastructure.

Committed to aligning capital with systemic impact, Chuck co-founded the Berkeley Frontier Fund to accelerate entrepreneurship and research innovation in higher education. His impact partnerships extend across UC Berkeley, Columbia University, and UCLA, where he has championed programs that expand access, strengthen research collaboration, and empower the next generation of innovators. Most recently, he is launching a new AI for Science initiative with UCLA’s Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) to drive advances at the intersection of artificial intelligence and scientific discovery.

He also co-founded the World Leading Scientists Institute (WLSI), alongside five Nobel Laureates, to mentor young scientists and address some of the most consequential challenges of our time. Currently, he is co-chairing, alongside the 37th Governor of California, a major WLSI AI conference designed to advance collaboration among academia, industry, and government to drive innovation, economic growth, and resilience.

For his leadership, Chuck has received multiple honors, including UC Berkeley’s Bradford King Young Alumnus of the Year Award, the Asia Society Asia 21 Young Leaders Fellowship, and PayPal’s highest recognition, the “PayPalian” Award. A proud UC Berkeley graduate, he also holds dual MBA degrees from INSEAD and Tsinghua University.
